2. The I-Need-Money-For-My-Visa Scam. Again, you meet someone online, from far-flung places in the world. They seem to be nice and legitimate. After some time, they say that they want to visit you, but they need money for their visas. Of course, being the great person that you are, you send it. But after that, they ask for more money for more requirements for getting a visa, so you send money again. Eventually, more and more "unavoidable circumstances" arise that need more money from you. Eventually, they stop communicating with you, leaving you lost, broken-hearted, and a few hundred of dollars poorer.

Oh, you may contact them and yes, you will receive an email, but the relationship doesn't progress any further than that. But watch out, it's just a ploy to entice you to renew your subscription.
But don't let these few people darken your fun in online dating! By any means, true and honest people who are looking for love are out there waiting for you. I mean, graft and corruption exists everywhere, but that did not stop countries and economies to progress, right?
